  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup Dunkin’ Donuts® Extra Extra Creamer

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter cold and cubed
Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup Dunkin’ Donuts® Vanilla Creamer
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg optional, for a warm spice boost

Equipment

  • Oven

Method

  1. Let’s walk through the steps to your sweet success.
Step 1: Preheat Your Oven
  1. You want your oven to be at the right temperature for an even bake. Preheat it to 350°F (175°C). It’s always a good idea to do this first, so the oven is ready when you are.
Step 2: Prepare the Muffin Tin
  1. Line a muffin pan with muffin liners or grease it lightly. This will prevent sticking and make clean-up a breeze. Additionally, it helps keep those muffins nice and moist.
Step 3: Mix the Dry Ingredients
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. This step ensures that all the leavening agents are evenly distributed throughout the flour, giving your muffins a nice rise.
Step 4: Cream the Butter and Sugar
  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter with the granulated sugar until it’s light and fluffy. This typically takes about 3-4 minutes. Incorporating air into the mixture at this stage is vital for that fluffy texture.
Step 5: Add the Eggs and Sour Cream
  1. Break the eggs and add them, along with the sour cream and vanilla extract, to the butter-sugar mixture. Mix until everything combines smoothly.
Step 6: Fold in Dry Ingredients
  1. Now it’s time to slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones. Mix just until incorporated. Overmixing can create dense muffins, and that’s not what we want!
Step 7: Add Dunkin’ Donuts Extra Extra Creamer
  1. Gently fold in the Dunkin’ Donuts Extra Extra Creamer. This will enrich the muffins and add that signature Dunkin’ taste.
Step 8: Make the Crumb Topping
  1. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Add cold, cubed butter and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix it until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Step 9: Fill Muffin Tins
  1. Scoop the muffin batter into your prepared tin, filling each cup about two-thirds full. Sprinkle a generous amount of crumb topping over each muffin.
Step 10: Bake
  1. Place the muffin tin in the oven and bake for about 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. The muffins should be golden brown on top.
Step 11: Prepare the Glaze
  1. While the muffins bake, whisk together the powdered sugar and Dunkin’ Donuts Vanilla Creamer to create a simple glaze. Add the fresh nutmeg if you’re feeling fancy.
Step 12: Cool and Glaze
  1. Let the muffins cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Drizzle the glaze over the warm muffins. This adds extra sweetness and a lovely finish.

Notes

Here are some handy tips to ensure your muffin-making adventure is a total success:
  • Use Room Temperature Ingredients: Bringing your eggs and sour cream to room temperature ensures they blend more easily into the mixture.
  • Avoid Overmixing: Gently fold your batter to keep those muffins light and airy. No one likes a dense muffin!
  • Experiment with Spices: Feel free to add nutmeg or vanilla to the batter for extra flavor.
  • Check for Doneness Early: Ovens can vary; check the muffins a few minutes before the recommended baking time to prevent overbaking.
  • Cool Completely Before Storing: Let the muffins cool entirely before storing them in an airtight container to maintain fluffiness.
